I have a Magic Chef oven in my trailer and it's really gotten the best of me lately. I used to be able to light this thing with no problems but lately........ I can't get it to light to save my butt. Any thoughts of what to do? Thanks

behind the knob on controller is a small metal tab that when depressing knob to light lets gas thru to the pilot light.after checking with tech was told that sometimes the tab needs tweaked or rather bent slightly to allow gas to flow.also was informed that yes it could take a few minutes to get thermocouple hot enough to allow gas to flow to burner.....

If your oven has a thermofil or thermocoupler it could be bad. Both are a small tube looking device that the pilot light heats to tell the oven to all gas to flow. Just a thought but you might google them to understand them. Neither the pilot or oven will light if the above device is bad.

Easies way to light a standing pilot over is to turn the thermostat up above 200. This allows a little more gas to flow to the pilot burner. Once lite turn back to pilot or temperature you plan on using. If it won't light remove and clean the pilot burner since you may have a spider that made a home.

Here's a thread from a couple of months ago that might help.
