Parallax series 7300 converter question

I was wondering if anyone knew off the top of their head if the Parallax series 7300 convertor is a three stage unit? I have a family member with this converter and isnt sure if the trailer can remain plugged it during storage without harming the batteries. Thanks.

Temperature compensation correction needs to be applied. Proper float voltage at 80F is 13.2, but at 50F it is 13.8

When it is very cold your float voltage should be over 14. So the 7300 does just fine at 13.8 in many climates. When it gets hot out, just check the battery water more often. No big deal.

That was what came in my RV. You are right, it will cook the batteries. I had a Parallax 7345. It took about 3 years for me to decide to pull it out and replace it with a real 3 stage converter. I got a Progressive Dynamics PD4655V. I am not sorry. I also upgraded my wiring from the converter to the batteries from the original 8g to 4g.

That Parallax junk will kill your batteries if you don't keep an eagle eye on the water levels.

YES 13.6VDC will start causing the battery cells to boil out fluids over time. 13.2VDC on the other hand will not. The benefit is keep the batteries charged on my single mode converter/charger so I left mine connected and always checked the fluid levels every couple of weeks and refill them when they started dropping the level..

Now that I have a modern multi-stage charging system out of habit I still check my battery fluids hehe...

My more modern converter/charger actually takes care of my batteries without too much effort on my part... Your friend would do better changing that unit out for a multi-stage converter/charger unit.

It is single stage at 13.6 - 13.8
It can stay plugged in except in very hot weather
