Patio Access to Satellite Signal

I use DirecTV with an older Winegard Roadtrip Minimax roof-mounted dish, on a 2006 National Dolphin. It works fine for the living room and bedroom connections. Does anybody know whether or not I can receive the same signal from the cable jack in my basement near the patio? I tried to hook the SD receiver up there but couldn't get it to work. I'm not sure if it's pre-wired for satellite outside and how I could check. I haven't been able to find anything in the coach manual. If it's anything like my old Winnebago, I had to run a separate cable outside to see satellite TV.

The splitter is most likely the issue. I'll need to find a nice, hidden interior route to run a cable. Other than that, I'll the plant the receiver up high inside and within eyeshot and run a flat cable through the window as a workaround for now.

Cable TV coax could have splitters or whatever and the coax may not be compatable.

Run a new coax and you know exactly what you have.
