Hello,
I am in the process of replacing my Dometic RM2652 cooling unit. When I ordered the replacement I also ordered a pair of cooling fans that mount on the rear of unit as well as a baffle that will direct the air flow directly over the cooling fins.
Cooling FansBaffleThe fans come with a thermostat controlled switch. Just need to connect to battery positive and negative respectively. It is set to turn fans on when temperature is above 85 degrees. It also states that if I wanted to I could connect them to a switch and turn them on or off at my discretion. The kit does not include a switch so I would have to purchase on my own. My question is that should I wire to a switch or just use the thermostat control? What are the pros and cons of each? My frig is NOT in a slide out.
I already have a evaporator fan inside the frig, replacing the cooling unit, adding fans and baffle to the rear of unit. Is there anything else I should consider doing while I am doing this work? I plan on cleaning the burner assembly as well.
I do not want to have any issues with the frig cooling when I am done nor do I want to have any regrets that I did not do something else to make the frig cooling as bullet proof as possible.
Thanks in advance for your help!
