Replacing the hydraulic leveling pump?

Mine has failed and I need to do this. Lippert, tried to sell me the entire pump assembly for $2300, When I asked why they were not recommending replacing only the portion that had failed they were Hmm, ok, the part you actually need is $995.

So I am about to order this thing and I am wondering if anyone has done this one their own before and if you have any tips.

I have a Valid air & hydraulic auto leveling system, but the parts come from Lippert.

A real lot of good info you guys are posting. Thank you for that. I am wondering what I am in for though. I am assuming there is no pressure in the lines and that I can remove them without fluid spraying everywhere, or am I wrong?
I am also assuming that when I remove the valve manifold there wont be any springs or unexpected issues that cause more expense or delay.
Please if you have actually done the job before, what is the step by step process for the best results?

LCI jacks have constant pressure. LCI jacks are Power Extend and Power retract. Doug

Lippert only supplies the Hydraulic system and hyd parts. Valid supplies the Air suspension and controls. Doug

Search this on Ebay. There have been threads where folks have used this motor as replacement. A little googling could save you a bunch of bucks.

Try SurplusCenter.com or NorthernTools.com They may have a pump that will work for less.
