Slow/ No Cranking

We have a new to us 2002 Winnebago Adventurer. It will usually start, but it turns over more slowly than it should. After driving a hundred miles or so, it will not even turn over until it cools down for about 30 minutes. I suspect the brushes in the starter are bad, but Iโ€™m hoping for some added insight. My battery shows 12.6 volts.

On a 2002, Iโ€™d want a new starter regardless of the problem.

I have experienced a starter on an older vehicle which bound up when hot due to worn bearings. It worked fine when cold. Just another possibility.

Iโ€™ve pretty much checked the cables. I think Iโ€™m going to pull the starter relay and use a jumper wire to bypass everything. I think that will tell me if itโ€™s the starter or something back up the line. I had thought it might be the remote relay, but I believe they usually just make a single click sound if theyโ€™re bad

Usually when boosting doesnโ€™t help, itโ€™s the starter or cables.

12.6V is on the low side. A load test would be useful. Does jumping or using a boost charger on it help speed up the cranking?
