Well, it proved easier than I expected. I did need to pull the fuel tank and remove the electrical panel on the front to get to the carb but that was fast and easy. Pulled the carb and removed both jets, the idle jet had some debris not sure about the high speed main jet but anyway, cleaned everything, put it back together and it runs fantastic. Essentially same job as I had to do on both hondas for the same surging problem.
