I have one of these and would like to do some much needed repairs but want to try to stay as close to as original as financially possible. I'm having difficulty finding any interior photos or info on this make and the company went out of business in 2006. There's a lot available on their MHs and pickup campers but nothing on TTs. Any suggestions on where I might get info would be appreciated. The only image I've been able to find is attached.

I just did a quick search for vintage trailer enthusiasts and came up with some groups other than tin can tourists. When I was considering a vintage trailer and wanted more info on it I found this site: http://goodoldrvs.ning.com/profiles/blog/list
You might find some help there. Good Luck

I just bought one of those during the winter, 64 Chinook just like that one. Mine had a vent roof leak which has been fixed, everything worked except for the propane part of the frig, I replaced the thermocouple and now everything works great.

Thanks again. That's invaluable info.

The Holiday and Coleman stoves were ubiquitous in this era of trailer. If the guts to the oven are missing, I'd suggest to shop the RV junkyards for a working unit. The stove/oven combo slides into position and is held by a few screws on top, towards the back. REpairing these older stoves can be difficult as the thermostats tend to be mercury filled and are no longer available. That, and the standing pilot light (also problematic in an oven) beg for a more modern replacement.

FWIW, my oven doesn't work, at present. I will try to repair it but chances are that I'll have to make a choice---live without oven or get a replacement.

Good luck with your rig, it is cute as a bug and I'm sure you will be seeing a lot of interest at the campgrounds.

westend,

Thanks for the info. I'll do some looking at 1964 tts of other types.

There's a refrigerator that may not be original and I don't know if it works.

The stove is there but the burner and pilot assemblies for the oven are out of it and the bottom is hanging down as though someone intended to remove the stove but didn't finish. I don't know if it's original either. It's a Holiday model 750TRS. I know the top burners work since we used it for a weekend trip after we first bought it before we notice some issues that caused us to park it.

The other appliance is a furnace that we were told would run you out which is handy here in Montana but we plan on moving south to warmer climes at some point and that won't matter a lot.

Thanks again to everyone for the info.

Most of what's inside these vintage trailers is generic. The difference between say, your Chinook and another trailer of the same vintage will be the inclusion/absence of certain items rather than an esoteric brand or wildly different engineering. At least that's what I've found while restoring/repairing a few of them.

Are most of the appliances present? Do you have a concern with a non-working item?

At this point I was more interested in finding more information about the trailer. We may end up doing this piece meal with just getting it road worthy at this stage. The photo isn't mine. Mine may be a bit rougher but maybe not...can't tell from that angle. I know there was a hole punched in the upper left rear that has been patched but looks terrible. Anyway, bottom line is I don't want to make a mod (with the exception of adding A/C :)) that isn't period unless I just can't do anything else.

I just attended the TCT rally in Michigan and it was a great time, and wonderful to see all of the restored trailers. You do have a valid concern though, about staying within financial limits . I think a lot of the folks that fully restore their trailers have the time and the dollars to invest in them. It doesn't look like an easy job. There are links on the TCT website to vintage trailer parts dealers and other restorers. Good luck with the work ahead of you. Depending on the time and $ you're willing to invest, it may turn out really nice.
