My 2017 F150 with 3.5 Ecoboost, 3.55 gearing, 10 speed transmission has been a great Tow Vehicle so far. My Lance 1985 only weights 4300# empty but power is no object. The transmission always seems to be in the right gear but at the same time does not shift frequently, does not hunt between gears. Gas mileage is not great, in the 10 to 11 mpg range. The vehicle is quiet, tows nicely. The only thing I would recommend is having the heavier duty LT tires instead of the P-rated tires that come with the truck. Auto Start/Stop is easy to bypass, I did it using YouTube instructions, a simple matter of one jumper wire on the switch.

F150s have several different trailer towing/load options. Make sure you are getting what you need.

Kind of typical (mileage) for a gasoline motor of dimmunitive displacement.

My big V8 diesel drops maybe 2 mpg pulling.

That is EXACTLY my tow vehicle and EXACTLY my trailer.

I am on the F-150 Forum. There is a thread on there about some software called FORScan that lets you make SOME changes to your truck. I used it to permanently disable Auto Stop/Start.

I just got a new F150 ecoboost for work, the auto start stop takes a bit to get used too. However as soon as you push the tow / haul or put it in sport mode it deactivates it.

Auto stop fix looks pretty simple and straight forward.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qf0dQEUg9VQ

In as much as I don't know what 'auto stop' is, I'll pas that along to my BIL. He's the lead designer in charge of the new 10 speed box.

Auto stop sucks. And the manufacturers suck for not letting you permanently disable it. I work with a guy who just bought a new3.5/EB and he loves it...except he hates the auto-stop. Ditto a friend of mine.

But that being said I've heard nothing but good about the 3.5 ten speed combo aside from the above issue, and 6k should be easy for it.

I haven't given the 10 speed a go yet but the 3.5 is impressive and will rip 6K around without fuss. It looks like the start stop feature is standard on the new trucks, in my opinion it is about the most annoying feature of anything I have ever driven, right up their with Ram's dial a gear transmission selector. You can disable the start stop feature but your have to push the button anytime you restart the truck. Other than that the F-150 is tough to beat.
