2004 Trail Bay 27 DS Heater Problem

We are the original owners,

Just recently when we turned on the heater it made one click sound and will not come on. No blower.

Air conditioner works fine.

Propane is working.

Suggestion on what to look for?

For anyone who may be interested.....

We did keep our appointment for the heater problem.

No blown fuse, no reset switch triggered, no propane problem, and no faulty thermostat.

Turned out that 10 ft. of 12 volt wiring to the circuit panel needed to be replaced.

Not sure how the wire was broken, we are guessing that one of our camping trips a month ago, when I found under a cabinet where I keep extra rolls of paper towels....an intruder had been in there during the night and chewed up all four rolls of paper towels. Guess the little bugger may of did more damage then paper towels.

Our trailer is 14 years old and we bought new. This is the first we have experienced damage by a rodent so we are feeling rather lucky.

Wiring cost us $8.50....Labor of 3 hours was $285.00....oh well the job is done.

Hi,

I did finally get the brand and model number of our furnace.

It is Atwood
model is the 8500 series (Models 8561,8520,8525,8531,8535)

This weekend we were camping and my husband and son-in-law were in every part of the furnace panels. We even had the wiring diagram. They could not determine the problem. They found the reset, fuses...nothing was tripped.

Grrrrrr....

When I first posted I knew this would come up but I was hoping for a short cut 😉

I will try and get it before asking more question about the heater.

Brand and Model of FURNACE

Suburban & Atwood make RV furnaces and various models.
Each have their own quirks.

Was not sure what kind of information was needed. I thought someone would guide me in what they needed to know in order to help.

You did give some great guidelines on a few things to look at.

Nice to know that you have a 2004 Trail Bay but that means nothing when it comes to furnace.

So guessing.......

DC Fuse to fan motor blown
DC Circuit breaker/On-OFF switch tripped..located inside furnace compartment
Timed Delay Relay bad
Timed Circuit on control board bad.

Fan motor has to get DC power and run before ANYTHING else can happen on your heater
