2006 F-250 Viberation????

The past month or so I have noticed between 45 -55 mph the truck has a slight vibration feel / sound. This happens on all types of roads.. No noticeable vibration in steering wheel but the ride just feels odd and not normal. I have had the front tires re-balanced and the balancing activity looked at the front end components and they all seemed tight and good. The front shocks are new. The tires are Mastercraft LT 265/70 R17 brand and have good tread left. Any other things that I might look at before I take it to the local FoMoCo shop for them to empty my pocketbook just to see if they can find anything.. I bought this truck used and have put about 5K miles on it before I noticed this issue.. It now has 89K miles

FINAL RESOLVE... local FoMoCo service dept finally fixed.. This is what they did in sequential order to resolve the problem 1: replaced driver side front wheel bearings, 2: replaced all ball joints (not related to problem but under service contract, 3: replaced passenger side 4 wd locking hub (locked in on position) 4: replaced drive line u-joints and finally (6) had drive line balanced.. problem went away after item 6. Thank goodness for service contract... Just posting this for information if others experience this same problem.
Just curious did they replace the u-joints and balance the drive line at the same time or separately?

I still think it is a dry u-joint. But I've been wrong before.:W

Where do you feel it? In the floor ,in your seat,or in the steering wheel.
If you feel it in the steering wheel it's more in likely a steering component.
If in your seat it's most like drive line related.
If the vibration is felt mostly by your feet or floor it's tire related.

Dollars to donuts it's probably a bad tire. Something to try is to get you spare tire out and put on the truck and try it in each position to see if you can feel a differences.

I'm thinking tire/s as well...

x2 I have seen u-joints try to bind up from lack of lubrication. They will not have any noticeable or visible play in the cups. look for rust stains around the cup seals.
Also had a almost new tire with separated internal plies that caused those exact same symptoms, the tire balanced perfectly at the tire shop and showed no visible problems. I swapped out the tires with my spare one at a time until I located the problem tire.
That's what happened to my Blazer, two different mechanics told me the u-joint was fine.

I had an older f-250 1986 I think that had a vibration at about 45 to 50 mph. Tried every thing I could think of, finally found it was a bad bearing on the rear end pinion shaft and the pinion seal was not leaking oil.

If you spent $1,800 on a problem that was not fixed you need to get off of this forum and have a SERIOUS chat with the service advisor or better yet the dealership owner. If they didn't fix your problem tell them you want your money back.

That face to face conversation will happen first thing on Tuesday morning..Only reason I posted an update is in case someone else might have this vibration problem.. not to whine and cry.. I will take care of this..

Good deal! I wish you the best of luck on Tues.
