Can a person run a direct line from the truck box auxiliary tank to the smaller breathing hose close to the filling location and leave a valve open on that hose with out any leaking when the factory tank is full??

I do this with an 06 Ram with no problem.

If you leave the fuel flowing into the breather hole there will be no breather hole. I don't think that would be a good idea. I am sure they would have suggested that if it was a option.

My RDS tank runs straight into the filler tube. When the cap is closed, it fulls up completely but nothing runs out. Just don't open the cap! I speak from dumb experience.

Make sure you put a small ball valve or something on there to turn off the fuel if you ever need to. When I have mine parked for extended periods of time, I turn the fuel off. But I had my old 2011 F450 with this set-up and my new 2015 F350 is done the same way.

By the way. My Ford dealer did the installs and they recommended it this way.
