Don't even consider a 2500 diesel. It costs the same as a 3500 srw, rides identical to a 3500 SRW and by the time you load a few passengers in it there is no payload left for a trailer. Get a 3500 SRW.

FYI..the maintenance chart says to inspect the air filter every oil change...you must remove it to do this....just saying 🙂
Also, I see lots of people ignore the 6 month oil change requirement...just saying 🙂

I completely understand the filter filtering better as time goes by up to a point. Please tell me what I am doing is causing an issue.
You are the resident expert that likes to go out of his way to tell people that they risk voiding their warranty if they deviate from factory recommendations so you should now this. You can always call that factory rep at Cummins you are always talking about.

Actually they don't ride identical
The 2500 with the coil spring rear rides smoother

You are right, I am dusting my engine! Silicon is at a very normal level considering the average oil change is 6K and my mileage is 2.5 times that.
Yes I do change my filter at 15K instead of 20 since it's easy to do ALL filters and out change at one time, my money and my method and proof below says it's just fine.
Also the report is with towing 1/2 of those miles at 33-35K.
You do know that you can have a perfectly fine silicone levels on your UOA and still damage your engine from changing the filter too often, right?

If that new diesel is going to be a daily driver, make sure you get supplemental heat or your really going to regret winter.
