'22 Powerstroke seems a little thirstier than the '21 was.

I'm getting the idea that my '22 F350 (which should be exactly the same truck as my '21) uses at least 15% more fuel than my 21 did. I calibrated the fuel meter on the '21 but I'm not confident that I have the '22 set right ... I haven't filled the truck using a legal for trade meter yet. Filling only to the first click off, the meter I have been using just told me it took 132.5 litres to fill my 128 Litre tank (I figured I had 2 litres remaining so 126 litres is what I was expecting). Has anyone put more than 128 litres/34 US gallons in their 128 litre/34 gallon tank? Even if my pump meter is out 5% I'm feeling quite confident that my '21 was consistently getting better fuel economy.

I just turned 95k on my OLD 15 RAM today. Did a fine job towing my 24k DRV with Harley towed behind. 1,300 miles in 26 hours over two days. Yea Iโ€™m tired but the truck says itโ€™s ready to go again.

Pickups haven't depreciated too badly for awhile, especially diesel pickups. That said the last year or two has been strange in that regard. Limited availability and much higher real world pricing on new trucks have really propped up older truck values. I think I could sell my 2015 for what I paid new or very close to it, and that's 7 years and 85k miles later.

ya thats what they keep saying but even now I can save over 30K off sticker price waiting for a 2 year lease return. that 30% average hasn't changed in about 10 years. the dealerships keep pumping out adds sayign the used car demand is at its highest and you'll get a lotto of money but when you go its normal maybe a little higher but nothing specatacular.... I was looking at trading in on a new dualie ๐Ÿ˜‰

I guess you're meaning you can buy a 2020 for $30k less than 2022 sticker price? That is surprising .... I sold my 2021 for $300 more than 2022 sticker price.

no, I could get a 2019 today here for about 30% lower than what it was sold for in 2018/2019. when I bought my 2014 in 2016 it was originaly sold for 86000 bucks, I got it for 51000 including extended warenty and such. the spred is about the same today but the numbers are higher. I was looking at a 2020 a year and a bit ago to replace min but it was still only a single rear wheel and it was 109000 so I said mine still does real good, I'll pass haha

I havenโ€™t paid anywhere even close to those numbers for my fully loaded Platinums but like I stated in an earlier post my dealer has been treating me very well.

Was that $109,000.00 for a 2020?

My dealer offered me $82,000.00 for my 2020 Platinum with 14,000 miles.. It is dead center of trade value on KBB

I hear stories about stuff like that, even calls from deals we need your used truck. when you go in it doesnt seam they need them that much. some people land a good deal once and a while it seams. my niebour did. he was able to get into a beand new truck (2 years newer) GMC for 500 bucks more than they gave him for his old one. well if I was looking at trucks and used ones were that close in price to a new one, why would I want the old one?

But good job running your truck to empty, what sounds like intentionally.
Guess the fuel system ainโ€™t much of a concern if you also donโ€™t change the oil thoughโ€ฆ

Seems like about 1/2 the people I know here in Alberta run diesel trucks and I have only ever heard of one fuel pump failure first hand. My BIL had the HPFP replaced on his Duramax under warranty.

I havenโ€™t filled a Ford from dead empty, but can say my โ€œ24 gal tankโ€ in my Chevy holds 24.4 gallons when it is bone dry aka run out of fuel. How I know is not to be discussed, lol!

I like to find out how accurate my distance to empty meter is right out of the box .... usually running it 35 km or so past 0 km to empty is about as far as I push it. This one momentarily flashed up a low fuel pressure warning at 1 km to empty. 2km further down the road the tach dropped to zero. I guess 0 km to empty means 0 km to empty.

I sense a lot of jealousy on this thread. If he wants a new truck every year, so what? If he didn't buy one every year and drove around in an old beater, would your life be any better because of it?

4x4ord, good luck to you. Mine is a '21, but if I found the right deal on something better, I'll be shopping too.

No jealousy but if you are dropping $70-80k USD (or candian equivlent) each year on a new truck, are you really likely to care about the fuel efficiency?

Update: See he has some weird sweetheart deal with a guy buying them off him a year old for as much as he's buying them new. Sweet deal if you can do it legally.
