I would love to swap gears, but I haven't been able to find a used center sections for reasonable amount seem to average $950 plus core for the rear end it has. What I really like would be a custom made set of Alcoa 19.5X14 Super single wheels with some retreaded 445/45r19.5 Michelin tires they're around 35in tall. Could always just put a double overdrive Eaton/Fuller 13sp in it.

It's only about a 4% drop in overall ratio. But u do also gain a little weight capacity. Plus they look kind of badass!

If my figures are correct....you do not drop much. A 4.88 to 4.73 or so. A gear swap in reality might be better option depending upon how much lower you want motor to run at say 60 mph. Along with how tall your highest gear in trans is. a drop to say 4.33's might be better in the long run. Along with the taller tires that I figured was a drop of about 3% vs the 4% in belows post.

Editing this to fix phat thums on smart phone and blankety blank blank auto correct!

I ran them years ago on my 2001 F550 instead of the 225/70 no problems, I initially test fitted a used set from our a International 4700 that came stock with that size.
What do u mean by "cut"?

the truck has 4:88 gears with a lower redline on the swapped in 5.9 cummins so I want to cut or reduce the gear ratio with larger diameter tires

The 245's are taller and help ratios if you are geared too low with the 225's. My Ram has the 4.44 gearing instead of the 4.88 for just that reason.
