Andersen-3604 Camper Leveler

Just stumbled upon the 'Andersen-3604 Camper Leveler' while searching for an easier way to level my travel trailer. Sounds like a brilliant way for side to side leveling.

Not happy with the plastic 'lego' type blocks that I am presently using. I'm on my second 10 block set and they keep on breaking!

Any comments on the Andersen-3604 Camper Leveler from someone that is familiar with them would be greatly appreciated.

Yah.. I guess I don't want to drive off the big end. I cut about 2" off the small end and they work great. I really don't need 2 that often.

They're just as good - no, better - than the ads would have you believe. It takes under 30 seconds to level the trailer as long as you don't need to exceed the 4" maximum of the cams. They're also built very well (in the USA) and appear that they'll last quite some time.

If I need to exceed the 4" max I am going to get a new site!

As you drive up on them, they're going to want to hit the ground. If the one between the tires won't lie flat, where is it going to go?

Just drive off of them just like in the video I posted earlier. Drive off slowly and they have no problem. If you back off of them the middle one will ride the tire up and be in the same angle as in the pic. I just drive off gently never a problem.

That may work for getting the trailer on to them, but what happens when you drive off the small end? They aren't going to roll 'up'.

My TT on the Andersens:

And FYI, my son removed the chocks from the back & I backed off them instead of pulling forward.

Report from my son on his birthday present: Better and easier than any plastic or wood block method. He drove off of the high end as per Anderson and it kicked out the leveler near DW so he recommends driving back off to the narrow side. Once a leveler could not be inserted between the tires due to uneven ground. A shovel would resolve this and he's considering cutting off 1" from the narrow end.

If he only trimmed a little off I couldnt imagine it making that much difference. Only way to know is to try it out.

We purchased two sets of the Anderson levelers but haven't needed to use them yet. But in checking the space between our two tires, we realized that they won't fit. So, DH cut a couple inches (at least) off the thin end of one, but it it is still too long. He's planning to cut some off the wide end, hoping we'll never have a site that is THAT far off level!

We're wondering now if we should have started at the wide end and not the thin end. My questions are:
1) Since the two levelers are now different thickness at the thin end, will one wheel be higher than the other?
2) Do we need to trim the other leveler to match?

You didnt need to cut anything.

Just angle the one in the middle up and your trailer will roll it down under the tire.

How in the world are you breaking those lynx leveler blocks ... I have three sets that I use to make ramps for my 1T Van and can't envision how they woould break. Personally, I don't like the concept of the small amount of ground contact with that Anderson system since the PSI at "ground contact" has to be MAGNITUDES larger than something like the Lynx levelers and they would sink like a rock on soft ground.

Larry

Note: The op asked for comments from "someone that is familiar with them". That is obviously not you!
Now picture your lynx level blocks, the contact surface is a spider web, not solid, I have buried them in soft ground many times.
I have a set of the Anderson Levelers and the contact surface is solid, they are no more likely to sink that your tires. I have relegated my level blocks to under the stabilizer jacks.
Are you comparing your 1 ton van to a 3, 4, 5 or more ton RV?

You were just lucky. Maybe next trip. I hope you never get the RV site from H8$$.

So disappointed. Just got back from a camping trip, and the site was already level! Didn't even use the new levelers.

I only use the yellow plastic blocks for my stabilization jacks. I am old fashion and use 2x10 and 1x10 for side to side leveling.
