Arctic Fox to Introduce a Triple-Slide Camper

I wonder if this is bringing back a modified AF1160 or a new design.
Given the weight of their other campers I wonder what this will tip the scales at.

"Among the new layouts was a prototype of a three-slide Arctic Fox truck camper floorplan that features a cathedral roof with island kitchen, dinette and rear-sofa slideouts.
”We’re really were just throwing it out there to get our dealers’ input,” Cochran said. ”They suggested that we change some small things, and we found some ways to improve it.”
The new floorplan will be available next spring. ”We had some dealers who wanted to order it, but we want to hold off until we come up with the final floorplan,” he said."

I find the outdoor speakers very useful. I would rather have them than Bluetooth.
2018 Eagle Cap 1163 triple slide, 400W solar, MPPT, on a 93 Dodge D350 Cummins, DTT 89 torque converter, big turbo, 3 extra main leafs, Rancho 9000s rear, Monroe gas magnums front, upper overloads removed, home made stableloads, bags.

AF should eliminate the outdoor speakers and just give a Bluetooth speaker for outside. They could eliminate all the work, wiring, cutting out the holes and installing the speakers by just putting a Bluetooth speaker in the camper.
The head unit in my 2016 AF 990 has Bluetooth capability now, it links to my cell phone.

That would make way too much sense. Their cost would probably be less, and they could/would have an up charge for it. And 2 less holes on the exterior for us to worry about leaking.

I thought that might be one but doesnt look like enough room between the door and the slide to have another one. Even if there was one in between it would be pretty bad angle because the slide would be in the way.

You have to hope that this is a preproduction model and items will be tweaked before making a manufacturing run for the customers. I would not be surprised if Northwood is following this thread and taking notes on our reactions.

Ha ha....I hope so...I'll offer my truck for a test run and my family would love to test it out for the summer and give a report. I'll post it all over social media too. Dear AF, love our 2011 1150...I can be there tomorrow.

Would really like to see a floor plan.
I doubt they will offer it in this model but a wet bath option would be nice

And why would shore power ever be moved to the ''wrong'' side?

You got me on that one - It could easily have been placed near the batteries or generator in the left lower wing.

With our rear door AF, we would many times park backwards in a spot to get a better view or position. I don't see us doing that anymore once we get a side door TC, so the added work to string the power under the camper makes no sense.

Also looks to be missing the marine speakers... good riddance. Make the head unit Bluetooth compatible and bring your own 🙂

AF needs to have this at the Seattle show in Feb. Thanks for the photos! Anymore?

From the photos, here is my guess of the layout:

1. To the right of the side door is a slide that holds the fridge and stove/oven.
2. Between the right slide and cabover is either the bath or rest of the kitchen. What I question in the layout is whether the bath is the forward center of the floor or if it is tucked forward of the kitchen slide. AF may have gone to a peninsula or island sink and counter.
3. The rear slide holds a 3-place couch or dual recliners.
4. The left slide holds the wardrobe and dinette.
5. The furnace has been moved to fixed wall in the left rear corner.
6. The generator has been moved to the left rear corner and forward of it is battery access.
7. The stairs and inline LPG bottles which are on a slide rack sit where the generator used to be positioned.
8. Shore power and the water heater have been moved from the front left corner to the front right.
9. I cannot locate where the dump was placed from the above two photos.
10. The left and rear slides appear to use the Schwintek mechanism, but you cannot see what the right slide is using.

Chalet's fourth slide in the cab over was not prototype - It was an option in the triple slide that allowed a cab over wardrobe with additional space around a queen size mattress or fitment of a king.

Ah ok. First I saw it was one their recent prototype for what they are pimping as their 2017 release. Good to know.
