Wife is sold, she wants it!

http://aspentrailrv.com/floorplan/2760BHS

My likes...hd running gear, 15" tires, 2 door rear ward, 5900 to 6000lb dry weight. Other notables low tongue weight (small kitchen slide), campsite facing picture window on the back of the u-dinette. Extensive clothes, and food storage for at least a week. 54/42/42 tanks.

Her likes:
300lb full bunks for the kiddos, u-dinette for the little kids, real queen bed, second door to bath, 40" tub, and dirty laundry shoot.

Did I find the perfect TT for our 2500 Sub w/7600lb tow rating?

The 2014 aspen 281 at Lehigh was msrp $28k show price $18k. I know that the market has quite a few similar floorpans in either stick and tin or ultra light($17k to $23k). It will ultimately come down to highest clearance drive train, and largest tanks to win this battle. Finally at agreement with my wife over layout and limitations moves mountains! I want a better window on the campsite instead of staring at my neighbors. Kitchen slide vs superslide.

I was showing my wife the forest river variants we both liked the bunk area windows and nicer front bedroom. The couch is longer and the beds or shorter (add here/cut here).
Do they have 14" tires? It is hard to tell with the two step trailers. ?I saw one forest river 2702SS with jack over jill on the right. That makes the lower bed more inviting for adult guests.

I know you cant pull the 2810, but I was just letting you know that the Aspen Trail is a good brand for the money. I bought mine at the Hershey RV show and RV Valuemart paid my Hybrid off without seeing it, and I got the 2810 for 20K. Maybe I just caught them at a good time. Because I know my Hybrid wasn't worth what they paid it off for.

Slow down Thwacker.

Stop comparing MSRP to transaction prices. The MSRP of the Aspen Trail 2760 is in the $26-28k range. My North Trail was $28.5k, sold at $18.5k. Something with MSRP of about $32k new should be bought for $20-21k.

cruiser aire 28fb used 27k ouch!

Only a sucker will pay $27k for that. Close to your Aspen Trail at $17-18k is appropriate for used, maybe less.

Get a quote on the Jayflight. You are close enough to that dealer to take advantage of that dealer's great prices and service.

Get a quote from Lakeshore on the Outback Terrain 299. Not so close, but a comparison on what someone might pay for more features. Even if you do not want them, you should understand the market better.

Is the Shadow Cruiser 282 worth spending $3k more than the Aspen Trail 2760? This is what I mean by the market gets really crowded in the $17-$23k range. The models I am considering for my next TT have MSRPs $36-43k range and purchase prices $22-25k. These are much larger and have more features/equipment than what you are looking at and what I currently have. It will cost far more than the $5k additional I could have spent 4 years ago to upgrade now. I didn't have the TV at that time. Get what you want first.

I know about weights, and have been studying bh tt for years to fit the past two trucks I had. Both were 7600lb towing 3/4 to 1 ton old school chevy with the 4spd 4l80E.
I wont consider any alleged dry weight of 6500lbs.
Flagstaff 27BESS, aspen 2670, or the rockwood are pretty much the only contenders for a 04 k2500 sub.

look at the forest river rockwood 2702ss, same floor plan, but higher quality and same weight. I will caution you to be sure to look at the actual weight on the lot before you commit, trailers ive seen have been several hundred lbs over the brochure/web dry weight on average

We were on the 281 at the Lehigh valley show over the weekend which got me hooked on the aspen. The price was 18k, but the weight was too much. Our sub only has 7600lb towing, the 281 starts at 6800lbs. Our payload is 2951lbs/8600gvw 6.0/3.73 4l80E.

We bought a 2014 Aspen Trail 2810 back in August and we love it. The only thing it doesn't have is the bathroom door that the wife wanted. We looked around a lot and could not find something with as many options for the price. we bought ours at RV Valuemart in Manheim, PA ?great dealership.

Shadow cruisers are nice, dual slide glamping $$$. Not my style of camping with pie iron cooking, hunting, canoe, and Jon boat bass fishing. We like the cruiser aire 288bh variant with couch behind the front bedroom, dinette slide, and TV on the rear bunkbed fascia . Steps went up the bunk bed with drawers in each step. 2 Door bh.It was over $30k iirc @Hershey.ershey 2011.
