Battery Lock

My version of the home-built battery lock (pre-paint). I used 1-1/2" aluminum flat under the boxes and 1" flat on top.

And that's the idea. I know if they really want them, they'll get them.

That is a nice looking setup. You are detering the thief that takes stuff that is convenient. You are encouraging them to look elsewhere.

It will detour the causal thief. One of the reasons I have 6 volt batteries...only an RVer...

That would deter me from stealing your batteries.. But then, I wouldn't be trying to steal anyone's anything... ๐Ÿ™‚

If you are of the mind that stealing stuff is "okay", then I guess it might keep a few from taking them, but maybe not all of those low lifes that feel the need to steal from others?

I had a single battery grow legs and walk away while parked next to my house..

Figured they got a 6 year old battery and I needed to replace it anyway, so no big deal, but I just remove the battery while stored and that's my security.

Yes, I see that you have 4 big and heavy batteries, so that might not be as easy as my little single one..

But, very nice job on the metal work and the battery arrangement in general.. Are they 12v or 6v batteries?

Looks nicely made.

However, a $10 Harbor Freight battery powered grinder with a cutoff wheel WILL easily cut that off in 10 seconds..

Aluminum is a poor choice concerning "security"..

Steel would only mildly delay a thief with a battery grinder.

That only keeps the "casual" thief "honest", will not stop or deter DETERMINED thieves.

Best policy is OUT OF SIGHT, OUT OF MIND.

I would suggest either the stealth approach INSIDE a heavy duty steel box or take them with you..
