I am looking for feedback on a strange battery problem I experienced on the weekend.
Trailer suddenly stopped accepting power from my deep cycle batteries after water pump was used for a 5 min shower run. Was running fully normal up to this point.
I have 2 12V batteries running independently. One for trailer, one for a secondary inverter needed for a sleep machine.
Day into the weekend, trailer went dark and would not power off one or both deep cycle batteries (independent or in series)
Trailer would operate fully when vehicle was introduced via hookup
Trailer would operate in limited manor when running off solar panel with no battery using same wires or panel with battery connected to charge controller.
Secondary battery would still run 400W inverter (2 full nights)
Trailer would NOT operate in series with solar panel and one battery.
Trailer operates normal on shore power.
No fuses or overloads were tripped and no new wireing was introduced.
Connections were all cleaned and re-attached as part of testing.
My plan is to have the batteries tested and replace with a new set of matched batteries. Any other area's I should be looking at?
Trailer load consists of LED lighting, waterpump, hot water tank ignition/control, fridge control panel. Furnace was not used.
Thank you in advance for any feedback.
