Morning. I have lost my fridge, furnace.stove fan/light. In front of magnetek converter is a fuse board with 6 15amp fuses with no power to them. I do have 12volts to the lights. could this be the converter?

The reason it wasn't cooling on propane was a faulty gas valve. I had a used one and they put it in for me at no charge. Everything is now working properly now.

Update. Well they replaced the fuse plate and module ignition module. I thought everything was fixed and had it on propane with burner lit and it never cooled any at all. how does that work? I changed to auto and it is cooling. Back it goes tomorrow.

Ya, It can be humming and warm and not putting out 60 or whatever AMPs like it is supposed to. If the transformer is worn out, which happens it will get real warm and hum louder. It's a simple machine and can be replace cheaply, unless you go to a repair shop. Your $.

I would be looking at Talking with Best Converter for a direct replacement.

You should have 12Vยฑ on the red and white wire coming out of the converter. If not, it doesn't work.
As noted above, you may have fuses near where the red and white wires are. Check the fuses. Also note, the fuses are usually held in by a "keeper", you have to loosen the screw to pull the fuses.
Just to double check, check to ensure that you have 120V on the receptacle the converter is plugged into.

Did you locate the model of the converter?
Check the end of the converter for reverse polarity fuses.

The converter is warm and humming. There is a red and white wire coming out of converter and going to 15amp fuses but there is no power at fuses.

Normally fuses would be for 12V and CBs used for 120V.

Do you have 120V throughout the rig that use CBs? Use of fuses for 120V is not very common. Since you have some lights apparently you have 12V issues perhaps a bad fuse or connection to part of the 12V system. Note that some appliances like the refer require 12V before either the AC or propane will work.

Your problem then is with the 120V feed. Check the post to see if there is electric at the source. If so, check the main breakers in the coach. The Converter will not work if you don't have 120V power into the coach. The converter converts 120V power into 12V power to run the coach and charge the battery.

The lights will work off the battery until the battery dies.
