Custom PIDs for 2004 Ford 6.8L V10 (2-valve)

I've recently downloaded the Torque Pro app for my Android phone to use in my MH. Engine is a 2004 Ford 6.8L V10 (2-valve). Because of the MH size and also towing a car, long or steep hills can be a challenge, so I'm trying to fine a Custom PID to monitor transmission fluid temp in Torque Pro. I've read that the Custom PIDs for trans temp that are provided with the app are for the 6.0L diesel. Can anyone provide or direct me to a source for a transmission fluid temp Custom PID for my motor? Thanks.

It is most reassuring to hear that Torque Pro with ScanTool OBDLink LX will read transmission fluid temperature. Just yesterday I ordered the ScanTool OBDLink MX for the purpose of reading TFT, and I've been sitting here wondering if I had made a mistake. Now relieved.

I don't think the pcm even reads engine oil temp? Don't think there is even a sensor?

I was told by the folks at Scan Gauge that engine oil temp is not available on the 6.8 V-10.

Received the ODB transmitter (ScanTool OBD Link XL) and installed it this morning. Connection to the ECU went well and Torque connected after I figured out what I was doing. Turns out that the Trans. Fluid Temp gauges did work and were active right from the start (both calc methods). What I can't get is Engine Oil Temp. Neither Custom PID is working. I've been trying to find a thread regarding EOT on the 6.8L V10, but haven't found one with a resolution to no EOT. Any info out there? Thanks.

X2 I always run my Scan Gauge with the trans fluid temp and coolant temps displayed (along with average and real time mpg). You can buy it on Amazon for $139, occasionally less. I ran it on my 5.4L F-150 and simply reprogrammed it for the 6.8L V-10 when we bought our Class C. Hands down the best $139 I ever spent on a vehicle.

Thanks everyone. I got a little spooked about the disclaimer saying you could screw up your system if you use incorrect PIDs. I guess that is more for custom PIDs not provided with the app. Anyway, the bluetooth adapter arrives today, so I'm going to set up some gauges and see how it all works.

Thanks

Yep I`m running the Dash Command. Just used it yesterday coming to NC. it worked great! it`s nice knowing the actual numbers instead of a gauge with "H" and "L". The App is $10 and then another $10 for the 2002 Ford PIDS. Not sure with the Torque App, but there are different types of PIDS for each reading for the Dash Command, so like TUCQUALA said you may have to try a couple different PIDS.

I use Torque Pro on a 2003 V10 Excursion, and the Ford PID's that are located in the software work just fine. Transmission temp is there and accurate. You may see 2 different trans temp PID's, just try one or the other and if nothing registers, use the other. It doesn't seem to matter if it's gas or diesel. Obviously some won't work with your rig!!

Download dash command.

It's a $10 or $20 app and you can buy the ford PID for $10.00 that can read the transmission temp.

User DodgeGuy has a V10 and uses this app. I use it as well on my 2000 lincoln.

Thanks,
