Are there any discounts for Fort Wilderness from AAA or Good Sam? Getting ready to book just the campground. Done Disney now we want to spend our time just in the surrounding areas.

Thanks.

Are you allowed a generator? Also are there dump stations. Never went to a state park because of the kids but me and the wife might be kidless next big vacation...:-)

Now that sounds like it would be a nice trip. Thank you very much. Better start checking it out.

If you just want to explore the middle section of Florida and be at a cool place on the ocean, then I absolutely recommend Jetty Park at Cape Canaveral. It's right on the ocean at the mouth of Port Canaveral where the massive cruise ships go right by the campground. Cocoa Beach is a few minutes away, while Kennedy Space Center and Orlando are all an easy drive from there. The rates are dang decent, too.

Touche on the post I added. I guess I wasn't detailed enough.
Sorry.

There are three discounts I know of. They are Florida residents, annual pass holders and AAA. They will NOT tell you about them, you have to ask. They are only offered at certain times of the year. In the past I have been given a premium site for preferred site rates, that was the extent of my discount. Good luck and remember there is no substitute for experience.

Actually I don't remember saying I will be visiting any other areas outside of FW but if I can't get a decent discount I would probably look elsewhere. Maybe Georgia? South Carolina? Just really need to LEAVE Long Island for a while...........:E

Maybe this in your first post? Sounds like you wanted to explore areas outside of DW.

Call Disney directly, not through a travel agency. The Value Seasons (this fall, starts after Aug4) is your best chance to get a discount. but they can be given anytime.
Discount are only announced about 3 to 4 months ahead of time. Depends on the number of booking. This past April we were able to get a 20% discount, in prime time.

Were going to Disney in two weeks so we'll be doing that long drive. I found out you cant drive thru the harbor tunnel so we'll have to go around it adding about an hour or so to the trip. my only problem is having to stop for gas so much and when stopping to rest there is no ac.....Im concidering getting a cheap genny to run on our stops to power the ac for a little while. im sure a 3000 watt will do even if it trips the fuse a few times it will still keep us from sweating while we sleep for an hour or so...

Sounds like a plan, we really love Ft. Wilderness. Find out a way to secure that Generator and you will be good to go.
