Do dealers even order regular or extended CAB's anymore?

Greetings,

while my 1st two trucks were regular cab models, my last two and current truck is a "super cab" (extended cab) which was very difficult to find in my area.

Is all that dealerships order these days are "crew cab" configurations? I see much like last year when I was shopping for a truck, lots full of crew cab models and hardly (if ever) a extended cab or regular cab to be found.

Having had two 'super cab' trucks, I got used to the extra storage in the back row. What am I missing here?

Does everyone carry more people than just the other half in the cab (hence the extra seating required) or does the extra storage space of a crew cab is to die for?

I'm camping solo most of the time and could not bring myself to justify the extra wheel base, larger doors, extra seating (and cost) of a crew cab. I had a hard time finding a super cab model.

I don't get it.

loaded truck were only available in crew cab

AFAIK, at least for the Ford Super Duty, the higher trim levels (King Ranch, Platinum) are only available for crew cabs. That explains why you cannot find them on other cab styles, new or used.

I was lucky to score my used extra cab XLT with most Lariat upgrades but no leather.

We went from 3 extended cab trucks to a crew cab this time and it's taking some getting used to. Kinda drives like a bus compared to an extended cab.

Yeh, just order what you want. Our 2018 took 8 weeks to get here.

I was searching dealers lots in 1500 miles radius couple years ago and loaded truck were only available in crew cab, while you could find regural cab in basic (working truck) models.
There was single supercab left over from 2016, but I decided to "build" my own truck and am extremely happy with the choice.
Have stuff I could not get otherwise like 360 cameras and thanks to not ordering stuff I don't need, got the truck very cheap.
CC is full foot longer than SC, so not only heavier truck, but bigger turning radius.
Modesto, CA dealer was offering $6000 below MSRP on custom builds.

Do your research, find just what you like and order it. You can probably get a better deal anyway because the dealer will have very little floorplan costs tied up in such a sale as opposed to one he's had sitting on the lot for months.
