Dsinety trip help needed

Leaving next Friday from Montreal to Fort Wilderness at Disney. I am looking for a good place to stop that is halfway point to Montreal on way back.

Already stopping in Washington on way up and looking for something a little south of Washington on way back.

May stay a few days so looking for something nice to do for a day or 2.

Any suggestions?

Just north (I95) of Disney World Orlando is historic St Augustine Fl. Then it's a days drive to Ashville N.C. to visit the Biltmore Estate. From there just west is Gatlinburg N.C. located in the Smokey Mountains. The Smokey's are beautiful this time of the year, with just enough snow to enjoy your Christmas and New Years Vacation. Then possibly a tour of Elvis Presley's Graceland in Memphis Tennessee. Then ...

Assuming you are traveling I95 and looking for a cg, Carolina Crossroads at Roanoke Rapids, NC, is handy. There are a few cg just north of Richmond but we've not used them. The Fredericksburg KOA is about 50 miles south of DC and was nice.

Chattanooga Tennessee is a pretty nice location and is about 590 or so miles from Ft Wilderness.

On the Tennessee River close to Nickajack Dam there is a small campground called Shellmound that is right next to the River with scenic views of the Tennessee Valley Gorge. It's a bit secluded and peaceful. It is also about 20 minutes outside of Chattanooga so you can do all Chttanooga has to offer.

While you are waiting if you know a town you can search this Forum for that town in the RV Parks section OR do a Google search for `_______ campgrounds' and put the town in the blank.
