Full wall single slide out vs. double slide out TC

Just curious if anyone doing their homework while looking to buy has ever done the math to compare which style TC may give you more extra interior room. Obviously, I realize all TCs are different, but this topic just drew on my curiosity when I recently looked at a double slide out model that had one very narrow depth slide out, and the other was a deeper dinette slide. My full wall single slide out gives me 121 cu ft of extra space since its 11 feet long and 2 feet deep. I never thought about it before but next time I get a chance I will take some measurements and compare just for my own curiosity. Obviously a person's purchase should come down to which floor plan is best for the buyer. Just bringing this up since alot of folks might think that a double slide out TC is automatically roomier than any single slide out unit. Not trying to start a war between single and double owners.

It's hard to compare different models, a second slide added to a single model will have more space. ;). For width, my double has more floor width than any single I've been in of any length.

I don't think floor space is the only thing that matters though since the extra slide also gives more depth to the cabinets and sinks which the DW felt was a big plus.

Yes, I saw this feature and I really like it. It has to be nice to have a designated waste basket cabinet, and then to be able to access it from the outside is a double plus.

The benefit of the 996 is that it has a bunch of counter space close to the window, behind the stove area. Floor space looks pretty similar to me as well between the 990 and 996.

Kerry, Interestingly enough, our double slide, AF996 has just about the same amount of "floor space" as it's little brother, the single slide, 990. Inside storage area in our 996 is more than the 990, but actual floor space in measurements is the same from what I've measured. The big difference to us is the extra storage room and that the double slide "feels" roomier than the 990. As you said, different strokes for different folks, but the double slide model sold the Mrs. and made her happy. We all know that if the Mrs. isn't happy...well you know.... 😉
