Mallard is a brand name that Heartland acquired from the now defunct Fleetwood Travel Trailer Division when they went bankrupt in March of 2009. At the time they aquired all of the brands that Fleetwood produced. They have marketed the Prowler brand since 2010 and must have just decided to now use the Mallard brand. I suspect that the Mallard line will be a step above the Prowler. The Mallard back in it's hay day made by Mallard Coach Limited was a top of the line unit before being acquired by Fleetwood back in the early 1990's.
Good Luck in your search and be sure to compare the unit to the current Prowler Line-up.
