New member here with tough question. I have successfully restore 2 popup campers and with our growing family we wanted a travel trailer. A friend of mine offered to sell me his 2006 aerolite 29qbh for $1600.
There are definitely repairs need. part of the ceiling is sagging a little, but surprisingly not the exterior roof portion above it.
There is also a 4 foot soft spot section of the floor that is soft.

Any thoughts on how tough a project since I only have experience with Popup Campers or thoughts on pricing?

I have found the leak problem coming from the air vent located in the bathroom and its an easy fix.

FYI the rest of the photos of the camper are in photobucket if you want the rest.

Any advice will be great appreciated.

Thanks CrazyZippo

The floor might be fine. Several new TT we have looked at recently seem to have soft floors. If the floor is not damaged just cut a piece of 5/8 plywood to fit and glue and screw it down.
The ceiling might be a bigger fix. It sounds like you have the skill to fix it.
Go for it.

AWESOMW, thanks for all the replies. He will be dropping it off in the next couple of days for a more solid look around, saves me the trip of picking it up as well if I decide to keep it.

Once the leak is fixed you will need to get inside the ceiling and see if there is rotten wood. You also probably need to replace the floor. You can probably just cut a sheet of 5/8 plywood and put it right over the existing floor.

You got it cheap enough that you can do quite a few repairs and still be money ahead. Just make sure you inspect the inside of the ceiling and walls for black mold. It will make you pretty sick if not removed.

Price is plenty cheap, but do you really want to do a serious rebuild or go camping. Soft floors seems to be common with light weights. They just dont pit enough floor joists in.
