Hitch

About how much weight on the hitch would there be from a 19Ft travel trailer? Its not packed with much and we travel with empty tanks. The hitch I want to use has a 6000 lb rating and 600 lb for the hitch weight. The trailer weighs about 3000 lbs.

The maximum your trailer can weigh is about 3500#.

The maximum tongue weight probably would not exceed 500#.

The 2005 Envoy Owners Manual states:

The trailer tongue weight (A) should be 10 to 15 percent
of the total loaded trailer weight (B), up to a maximum of
400 lbs (181 kg) with a weight carrying hitch. The trailer
tongue weight (A) should be 10 percent to 15 percent of
the total loaded trailer weight (A), up to a maximum of
900 lbs (408 kg) for a weight distributing hitch.

If these tongue weight limits apply to your Envoy, you probably need a weight distributing hitch.
If the 6000/600# hitch referred to in your post is a WDH, that should be sufficient.

What brand of trailer? Any clue as to the model number?

You mention Travel Trailer?

Does it have a ice box or refrigerator?

If it is a full size RV type trailer, there is no way it will be around 3,000 pounds. Even a empty cargo trailer will be in the 3,000 - 4,000 pound range if it is 8' wide and 19' long with a 8' roof. I think that your weight guess is not realistic.

Does the hitch have a 2" ball or 2-5/16" ball on it? The 2-5/16" ball would indicate it has a capacity over 6,000 pounds on the hitch ball. If only 2" ball, then the hitch capacity is closer to your desired 5,000 pound rating. Yet it really is a guess.

What do you plan on towing it with? Does the trailer have electric brakes? Does the towing vehicle have a electric brake controller? That is important too!

A 3000 lb actual weight trailer should be loaded to acheive a tongue weight of 300-450lbs. What your actual current tongue weight is anybody's guess.
