How to value TT

I am thinking of selling/trading in my 2013 StarCraft Autumn Ridge 278BH, but can't find out what it is worth. Nada seems ridiculously high (although I'd gladly sell it for what they quoted) and every where else is just what other sellers are asking. They all seem to be ASKING around $15,000-$16,000. I have been offered a trade in deal, but not sure how to tell if its an acceptable deal or if I should just sell outright.

Thanks

Another thing about NADA the information on pricing comes from RV dealers , the dealers report sales to nada and thats how they determine pricing . Now , its in a dealers best interest to have high prices .

When I was looking at used trailers , sellers would quote nada , add all the "acessories " those were the trailers that spent forever on craigs list .

when pricing ours I went to rv trader, rvt and dealer web sites and looked for our trailer and priced it accordingly. I made sure it was clean in and out, I also listed all the options and a floor plan I found online.

Considering most folks do not pay more than 70% of advertised price take NADA price and reduce it by the same amount. JMO

I think the region of the country has something to do with resale values. I bought the same tt you have new in Tulsa in 2013 and gave 13,300 with a second year warranty included. With a new price like that I could not expect a lot out of it two years later.

Another few things to consider.

Be honest with yourself & determine what condition you believe the TT is in. Is it below average, middle road or above average condition ? Condition of a used RV is a major factor of value.

Also, If you trade it in, do you pay sales tax on the difference? If you sell it yourself, & purchase new without a trade then you'll owe sales tax on the total purchase price.

Another factor is "regional" value which NADA doesn't consider. An example is here in Idaho, the value of a good condition POP-UP = NADA HIGH + $1000 = what it can be sold for. I bought & sold 6 of them & paid cash for my hard side with the profits.
I'm an expert in only one field....I believe it's somewhere in Kansas.

One thing about the NADA site, you should only add accessories that were added on to your TT. Do NOT include those that were part of trailer package. For example, on mine, a power tongue jack and a 18 ft awning were standard, so I would not check those things when looking at options. In fact, there is nothing to check on mine, as my model came with a number of things that were options on different brands.

I have often seen people pricing their TT using NADA and checking everything... although all that came standard on their trailer. This inflates the value thousands of dollars... and on a trailer that was less than 20K new, a 5 year old one should not be in the 16K-18K price range. Remember to depreciate at least 35-50% off suggested retail if you are over 3 years old. Mine is a 2011 and the NADA amounts are pretty accurate.

I agree about NADA. I checked their site when mine was about 5 yrs old and the value given was nearly what I had paid for it new.

I think about the only thing you can do is search the net for all those same models you can find, check their prices, and arrive at a price you think you can accept for yours and throw it out there and see. With spring coming soon it shoul be a good time to start the process.
