I wonder if this is a gimmick

I'm always looking for new ways to heat the TT. I found this but,I'm thinking that there is a law of physics here that they are trying to violate. The only advantage I see is that it would continue to radiate heat after being stopped. Something tells me that this just won't work the way they say.

On there other hand I have seen tests that prove you can take 2 clay pots with sand in the middle and the inner pot will get colder because the heat is wicked away to the outside. But, I think this is a different deal.

Forty-five years ago we borrowed Dr. Frankenstein's tent trailer. It did not have a furnace so he suggested that we put a flower pot over an open flame on the stove to heat it. It worked but we were getting a lot more flame than a candle would give.
He was our family doctor until June of this year when he retired.

Maybe they used the candles to light some green leafy substance while using this device....:W....Dennis

The creators of this magic device are counting on customers that never had a high school level physics class.

Ridiculous idea... Just when you think you've seen it all. Hahaha.... Makes no sense based on the common laws of physics. In fact, makes no sense at all for any reason.

Just think, if you put 100 of them in your TT, you could get maybe 5,000 BTUs. Or is it 10,000? Then you'd be getting some reasonable heat. Where would you put them all though? But you wouldn't be able to stay inside because of CO poisoning and lack of oxygen.

Good for a chuckle at least.

I know you're joking PT but thought I'd mention that rats LOVE candles. :B

A BTU is a BTU all the upside down pots and nuts bolts and washer do it store the heat longer in one spot. Normally the heat rises and tries to fill the confined space. Yes it is a gimmick!! S:Spend the money on another sweat shirt.. Good luck, Bill

I used to do a lot of cold weather tent camping, and a candle will make a noticeable difference inside a small tent. Inside a TT, I have my doubts.

I think there are 3500 BTUs in a pound of pure wax, How long does it take to burn a one pound candle?

Hi,

Make your own? BTW a candle does between 100 and 300 btu's.

What- no warnings about the risk of carbon monoxide poisoning associated with burning candles? ๐Ÿ˜‰

The cover may disperse the heat a little but it won't increase the heat. When we want a little heat we just light the stove for a few minutes. The stove puts out a lot more heat than a candle.

the energy (heat) from the burning candle by itself is the same energy that you will get from this device. Conservation of Energy and basic Thermodynamics.

Save your money and get something that will actually heat some space. I guess if you like burning candles inside a box while you're in it, move forward on it.

There is nothing about this device I like. Since it looks to be top heavy and may be imbalanced, it looks to me like it might remove safety rather than add safety. The fact that the creator is now selling them with an electric light source, tells me that the original design was not that great.

The idea's been around for a long time, and there are lots of do-it-yourself instructions online to make your own if you're interested.

Here's a Youtube video that gives instructions.
