We just purchased a 2010 Skyline Mountain View 196 travel trailer from a private party. He did not have an owners manual. Anyone able to help with this would be greatly appreciated. No luck online so far.

The old manuals are pretty hard to find, as others have said, RV manuals are pretty much useless. But if you're curious about and looking for just general "How To's" such as how to fill the water, drain the tanks, open the awning etc, then yes they can be helpful but you'll probably only look at it once.

While not the same as being to just open the manual, If you have a question about your trailer just post it here with a picture if applicable and we'll help figure it out.

I agree that most manufactures manuals for the trailer are very generic and almost useless. What you really need are the manuals for the appliances that are in your rig.

I think you can probably download the manuals for most of your rigs appliances from a website owned by member Chris Bryant who has his own RV repair shop,Bryant RV Services.

Click here and be prepared with the model name or number of the various appliances you need manuals for.
Hope this helps you out a bit.:)

Go through the camper, write down all of the appliances model numbers, go online and download the manuals. Put them all in a notebook along with any manual from stuff you buy.
I ended up using a really big one.

This is very good advice!
