Key broke off inside front door lock on travel trailer

Hey guys, last night my front door key to my 2018 wolf pup 16bhs from Forest River broke off inside the front door regular lock (not the deadbolt which still works) in locking position. I have tried getting it out but it seems jammed in there good. If I unscrew the entire locking mechanism from the front door will that give me easier access to the lock cylinder? Or am I gonna have to buy a whole new lock or call a locksmith? Thanks for any feedback.

Replacement locks aren't very expensive($20-30) and they are easy to replace.

Or you could just bang it upside down until a piece sticks out far enough to pull it out.

When I worked as a security office. I had very good luck using the tip of a very sharp knife catching the edge of a key and wiggling it out.

I've had good luck using a crochet hook to catch part of the key still in the lock. My wife hasn't missed the one I took out of her set about 35 years ago. If she wants it it is in the tool box in the truck.

Try crazy glue on the part in your hand then stick it to part in lock. Hold it still for a minute then pull out. It may get it out all the way or just enough to grab with needle nose pliers.
