Lance 1575 TT

My inlaws are thinking about buying a Lance TT http://www.lancecamper.com/travel-trailers/1575/. They've looked at Winnebago and several others. Haven't talked numbers yet with any salespeople. This model retails for $30k.

I know Lance has built truck campers forever. I saw a few negative comments (as with most RVs). So, if anybody can enlighten me, I'll pass the info along.

Thanks

Two people and a dog. They are Florida residents and travel to the northern climates June-September. So probably only need a 2 Season package. Hot & Hotter. LOL.

They are limited on the weight, so the 1575 is their choice.

Thanks for all of the replies. I will pass the info on to them.

I have a 1575 and can really give you the truth
1) First windows are nopt polycarbonate but acrylic who can stand weather a lot better . Yes you can scratch them but after 2 fulls years, I have not . Just wash them gently. Also you can open them almost 90 o and get a lot of ventilation
2) The dinette step-up , yes that there but it's a big advantage because give you storage space under and because its over the tire , they were able to put a U shape dinette that is big , bigger that many A class RV
3) Light, no other trailing offer that much light because of all windows plus the 2 skylight.

4) The blind are one of the best feature of the 1575, total black out when close and full screen when open plus the option to have no screen for perfect outside view.

5)Front cargo area under bed , it' so big , I put my 2 bicycle in it plus my inflatable kayak and still have place for my BBQ.

6) Real full queen bed not a RV size queen bed.

7) Easy to tow, I do it with my Ford Explorer and work very well.

😎 Good tire Towmax, most owner dont have any problems with them and this is confirm by owner on the LOA forum (Not own by Lance)

Not what are the compromise you need to understan

1) You cannot go around the bed, if you need to wake up at night , could be some issue

2)Bathroom is small but friendly.

3)Little counter space but U shape dinette table is huge.

For us, we tour all the small TT and none reaaly none offer what Lance was offering including quality of materials and space use.

Just to be fair, Lance is growing rapidly now and some have have issue on quality but most are resolve easly by the dealer and Lance.

For more info go to the Lance Owner of America forum

We love our Lance 1685. We looked at the 1575 because we're currently towing with a 2006 Toyota 4 Runner, 6 cylinder. The 1685 won because of the 2 axles and shower/bathroom configuration (didn't like the slide door for the 1575), 45 gallon fresh/black and grey water tanks (HUGE!) and some other specifics. The 1574 is 1000 lbs lighter, but has only 1 axle and 26 gallon tanks, plus that sliding bath door.

We have the 2014 1685 - the year before Lance went to the new front windows. Ours is trouble free and the window has a fold down exterior cover (not sure what you call it). The blinds - including black out blinds and daylight blinds are easy to work. No complaints at all after 10,000 miles. For a look at our adventures and what we think of our Lance 1685, see our website, or this link ... Tour de Lance WestTour de Lance West.

We've had the trailer for exactly one year and spent over 150 nights in it so far ... definitely a good addition to our lives!
Cheers! Jan & David

Just returned from our First "Snowbird" Winter ... 25,000 miles, 26 states, 23 National Parks ... and counting....

I also suggest, especially for two people, to go with the 1685. You can get a good idea of prices here. Trailer Hitch RV

My wife & I were wanting a full sized queen bed (not an RV queen) & one we could walk around. We wanted it to be on the small size as well.

We found what we wanted in a Lance 1985. The full sized queen bed is just what we wanted & can be accessed from both sides; another want fullfilled. Being somewhat lighter than other rigs, we looked at, we can easily tow it with our Ford F-150.

We are very happy with our Lance. Very well made, good workmanship & the company has been easy to work with, get advise & help.

The first Lance TT was a 1575, but we didn't care for the Euro-styled poly-carbonate Windows, nor the tankless water heater. The 1685 would not have these, but is a little larger. Specs 1685
Specs 1575

The 1685 has two axles, not just one like the 1575 as well. We like having a second one.

We checked a couple of dealers checking on a lowest price & receive good offers. We bough our in Tucson at Lazydays RV. They have one in Tampa as well.

I really like the Lance TT's, and almost bought one a year ago. One of the things I didn't like was the step-up into the slid-out dinette.

I recently looked at the current-models and do not like where they've gone with the windows. The ones I looked at were all poly-carbonate and have warning stickers all over them about how careful you need to be while cleaning them (to avoid scratches). Plus I was challenged by the opening mechanism and how the blinds worked (maybe I was having a bad day).

That 1575 is probably very bright inside for a very small TT. Watching TV isn't a big priority to us, but would want to consider if you can even see it from the dinette.

That is one thing that caught their attention was how bright it was inside compared to the Winnebago. I tried the latches on the windows and was not impressed by the quality. Could see those breaking off. We fumbled around with one of the blinds also.

The slide-out definitely makes the inside of a small TT seem bigger.

They didn't seem to mind the step-up dinette as there was storage underneath.

Anybody have a low retail price to offer the dealer?

Thanks again.

Lance generally has a pretty good reputation and I would definitely put it on my list of candidates, as I would the Winnebago also.
