Lance 815 (or similar)

Anyone have a Lance 815 truck camper in the vicinity of 2004 (or maybe even not in the vicinity)? I'm looking for a picture of the area around the greywater tank inlet. Like in these pictures: https://imgur.com/a/jGg8f

We had some service done, and it looks like a piece is missing here. I can't recall if it was just a piece of sheet metal or something else, but I'm hoping to see what it should look like before fabbing something up to cover the gap.

Yep, that's the gray tank drain pipe you see. And this is why the shower drains into the black tank.

I modified my shower drain so it runs out through a hose. I just open the sewer door and drop the hose into a bucket. Then dispose of properly, usually dump into the kitchen sink to put it in the gray tank. A lot of folks will tell you just let it run on the ground, but here in the east coast, that is illegal in most places.

I have a 2002 Lance 815, the fresh water tank is located right in the step up to the cabover. The gray tank is expose and the drain line travels over the black tank, tying into the dump line just after the black tank dump valve. The black tank is behind the metal shield as in the pervious photos.

The missing sheet metal can be easily made, I've had to do it.

Ah, so this is actually the drain from the grey water tank? I wasn't aware that the fresh tank is where you say it is, but it does kinda make more sense.

I could. Load up the camper, drive it out to them, have them unload it, have them load it again, drive it home, unload it again. Seems like a lot of hassle. I think I'll just cut and bend a piece of sheet metal to fit, it'll be much easier, and probably less time consuming.

As you can see a simple piece of sheet metal with one bend and cut to fit around the pipe. The foam was to seal the air gaps which create a draft in the corner under the furnace overhang.

Thanks for this, and interesting. It definitely seems to show a cover over the fresh water tank! And that cover seems to make it appear that the pipe somehow comes off the back end of the fresh water tank (it doesn't, actually). Maybe I did have a cover on that and just don't remember.

Glad to see the missing piece is just a piece of sheet metal. That'll be easy enough to make up for sure, and I've got a can of expanding foam left over from another project.

I'd say if the misplaced piece has vanished, a trip to Lowes amd some tin snips and pop rivets and you'll be in business.

I have a 2004. You are missing a piece of sheet metal. I'll swing out by the storage unit tomorrow and snap a pic or two for you tomorrow if no one else does. It will probably be later in the day before I get a chance though.

I don't have one, but looking at the pictures, the galvanizing is nice and shiny and then it gets dull and dirty looking. The shiny is because it was covered by another piece of sheet metal that had fasteners going into the screw holes that are also visible.

The strap holds the fresh water tank in place, it's always been exposed like that. There's a shield covering the grey water tank, but not the fresh. The pipe goes into the grey water tank *just* behind the fresh water tank. For some reason the more I think about it I feel like there was a boot or something that covered the pipe and attached to the sheet metal, but I just can't be sure.

I had an 02 but I sold it. If I remember correctly, there was a shield covering the tank. I know I never say the retaining strap so it had to have been covered up
