We just added a third camper to the family, have a 2008 Coachmen Chaparral 5th wheel parked perm. A 2016 Aspen Trail, and now a Clipper 2018 17 ft. We wanted something quick and small for long trips, no slides, and small tow weight for the interstates. Anyone thinking this route (down sizing)for retirement time? No retired yet but getting close. Got her all fixed up ready to roll. Looking forward to many trips to Myrtle Beach and some higher elevations.

We bought a coachman 192RBS, kind of on a whim. Dealer called it a couples trailer, and it really is.

Yes, I have a 17' trailer for long trips as well. It will go a heck of a lot of places the 35' trailer could never go. The neat thing about my 17' is 100 gallons water tank and a built in 4k Onan generator with 40 gallon fuel tank, I searched a while to find a used one since they only built it a few years. 24" tv with Bose sound system I installed. The draw back is tongue weight is about 1250#

CHeck out Viking too.... same trailer, different label on the side.
I like the Viking better. It had a shower surround on a roof A/C unit instead of through-the-wall residential A/C

pattyz.. checking to see how the Clipper has been treating you? I'm looking hard at them... any regrets?

So glad to see your comment, so many dont understand, why 17 foot? We eat, sleep, shower, then gone for the day. Slide outs, and big screen TVs dont rate now. Speed limit on 95 is 70, so we want to get where we are going now with no hassle. I think it will be a good decision long term. Its perfect for us, queen size walk around bed, big shower, bathroom sink, 2 burner cook top stove. Can't wait to go up Lancaster PA in Oct with the little thing 🙂

Thought about doing the same as well. Wife has 9 months to go till retirement. Although our 5er is on the short side, we've been kicking around getting a used small TT or even a camper for long trips where site seeing is more important than actually staying somewhere for a week at a time. Something that we could make better time with when going to different places.
