Ordered Host Mammoth

A couple weeks ago I phoned in an order. (After a few weeks of negotiating) My wife and I have been in a few of them. This will be out 3rd TC and our 8th RV. 4 MH 24, 34, 40 and 45 ft. 2 other TC and a 5th wheel.

We always have a MH and a TC at the same time. Now it is a 5th wheel and TC. They get used for diff things.

Didn't get a lot of options. I feel I can do a better job with the batts, inverter, and the TV's.

Ordered, double couch, leather or what passes for leather on both.
3 slides are now standard, no choice, thats what I was told.
micro/convection
sealed burner top
upgraded escape hatch
9k btu AC
gas electric hot water
swing out brackets, they should be standard.
power awning.

It is prob diff from what most people would order but we have ben camping traveling for a long time. I will add 4 or 6 6v batts and a 3k inverter. I also have a pair of honda 2 k gen.
I will only carry 1. I don;t think they have started the build. I was told it would be in around the end of Jan. Looking forward to it.

We like the table a lot. If you make sure all 3 locks are on tight it will really tighten the table up. It feels much looser when they are undone and the table slides around. The double couch with the high/low table was a must have option for us.

I'm curious what your thoughts are on the high low table in front of the couch. When I played with moving it around it seemed a little wobbly/not as stable as I would have expected from Host - just curious how yours is handling. Thanks!

Heard from Randal during the Seattle show that they were looking to allow an option to make the gen compartment compatible to store the H2000 unit. Something about making the bottom deeper so it would fit. Just wanted to throw that out there.

That was one of the reasons I didn't order the tray. I had 2 of them in my Zephyr DP and didn't really like them so I took them out. I find I have more space to use with out it and in the mammoth, less weight.

I will be adding some of my own mods that are heavy. 6 6 volt batts and a 4k pure sine wave inverter.

I removed the sliding tray from my Everest. It is just like the sliding tray that people put in the bed of their trucks. It reduces the usable space of the basement.I found that I could not pull the tray out, as nearly everything I put in the basement is wider than the tray.

The fireplace has a high and low setting. All electric. You can just turn it on , high or low, or you can set a thermostat to a certain temp. You can also set it to run for so long. It also has a remote that controls all of this. It does heat the living area and the bed room. It does take a little longer for the heat to get to the bedroom though. We love it.

Sounds like there are 2 more of these coming. Can't wait to see pics of both. CONGRATS

The fireplace is a 120VAC electric heater with fan. It can be run off the generator or shore power but it is more efficient to run LPG heat when you do not have shore power.

I'm curious how well the "fireplace" heater works and if it warms the bedroom and bath up with it running. Is it like a catalytic heater with little to no amp draw or does it have a battery sucking blower? Or is it strictly electric for on shore power?

Thanks for posting the pictures. I like seeing the deletes on some options and am curious to how the skylight delete with escape window with the Easter delivery. I have to say, the sliding storage tray in the back is worth every cent for me.

More I see this model the more I like it!! Maybe another year or so will upgrade... Keep the pics and updates coming to all who will be getting this model.

Gen compartment is 26 x 22 x 14high

basement is 46 wide and plenty tall enough for a Honda 2k.
