outback king slide question

Strongly considering a new outback terrain with king slide but we have a question does anybody know what the capacity is on the king slide wait wise .I figure someone here would know and yes I checked the brochure and web site.I would ask a dealer but we do not have one close by to ask. Thanks

I have the 250 and my understanding is that it is rated to 1000 pounds. Between me (overweight), my pregnant wife and our four (currently) kids we are about 600 pounds and it is stable when we are all on it during the mornings when the kids climb up to "snuggle". I'm not so much concerned with weight as I am with quick and sudden jolts that might knock it off its tracks. It is quite sturdy, but we decided that exuberant "marital relations" should probably be limited. So no "swinging from the rafters" for us. 🙂

A bit confused about kingslide's response of 75#...????? Having moved from a HTT, the vast majority of those have a capacity of 1000# on each bunkend. I would assume that a rear slide would have a comparable capacity, but when in doubt, contact the manufacturer. Yes, as has been discussed on the HTT side many times, recommended nothing be stored on the slide when it is in. A rear slide is considered an "expandable" and not a HTT, but questions re them seem to surface often on that side. You might do a search here for expandable weight limits and see what comes up.

My cousin and DH in the Houston area had a KZ rear slide for about 8 years and loved it. The only downside was that they liked to camp at Galveston and the salt air was hard on the slide mechanism with rust spots. He was in a constant state of wirebrush/Rust-O-Leum.

Assume that the ones you're considering have 2 doors, but suggest you double check on-the-road access to the bathroom and kitchen areas.

We are considering the 250 model maybe the 260 .final choice still a few months away. This is our first rv and we dont want to make a very expensive mistake.

As far as I can tell, the Terrain rear slide is built the same as the previous model Outback 250RS. I have a 2011 250RS...this topic has been thoroughly discussed and researched over on Outbackers.com and keystoneRV.org. The final answer was do NOT put extra weight on it while it is stowed in. For those who absolutely want/need to use it while in, many of us have crafted under-slide supports for use when it is in. I even use my support while towing the vehicle as it did start to pull the ceiling guiderails out.

The weight limit for when it is extended would be...2 adults.

I have no idea what the total capacity is either, but I have heard not to put any weight on the rear slide while it is retracted in. The older units would pull the supports out of the ceiling with any weight on them while bouncing down the road. Not sure about the new ones, but just as a precaution I don't ever load it while it's in. Gaffer222 has been info than me though if he's talked to a factory rep.

I'm sure at a minimum it's rated for 800 lbs.

On a side note, I absolutely love my Outback Terrain. What model are you considering?

I have a Terrain 250TRS on order. Factory rep told me 1200lbs in or out.
