Pad under roof antenna?

Hey guys-
I conditioned my rubber roof today, and was curious if anyone makes/uses a pad between the roof antenna (ctv) and the rubber. This is my 3rd TT and I've never had an issue with it, but ice always been curious. Since his is my first new camper I'm thinking this may be a good idea?

Thanks for your thoughts.

I cut some squares of Eternabond and put them under where the antenna rests when down. Figured it couldn't hurt.

Nope. And I don't condition my roof either. The manufacturer doesn't recommend anything other than cleaning with a soft brush and soap.
