real mattress

We have a queen sized RV mattress in our bedroom. It measures 60" by 75", but we have about 10 inches of space in front of the bed before it hits the wall. I was thinking of going with a standard queen mattress which is 60" by 80".

I was just going to go with a mattress since adding a box spring would make the bed even higher.. (heaven forbid I ever fall off of it).

Anyone ever do this and/or have any recommendations?

Thanks in advance...

Our trailer came with a double but was sized for a queen so I picked up a 5" conventional foam from http://www.thefoamfactory.com
I know a number of other folks that have bought from them and been happy. I bought a firm and in retrospect the regular would have been fine.

To the OP, go for it! No need for box springs since I'm assuming that you're mounting on a piece of plywood or one of those fiber stretched- supports. I'm thinking about replacing my new Serta Mattress but it will be a job getting it out of my trailer!! LOL

Nothing says you have to sleep on those cheap rv mattresses
