Rear View Camera opinions

I would like to install a wireless rear view camera on my JayFlight 34BSRS. I am considering the Voyager WVOS511 and the Rear View Safety 091406. Both say they are good for 60'. Cost is a HUGE difference. $650 for the Voyager and $250 for the Rear View Safety. Does anyone have any experience with either one?

I have a 2015 Silverado with the backup camera option and would like to know if there is a wireless WFI camera that could be mounted on the back of my 2006 Mallard CK180 that would use the monitor and WFI system built into my truck.

Will let you know. I like the idea that I can stick it on the truck for hitching up and then stick on the back of the TT for backing up.

Have the wireless BC20 for my Garmin 760 as well. Just playing around with it, the Garmin was able to pick up the signal almost 300' away. Check your mounting location for spray when traveling in the rain. Where I mounted mine it catches spray so I need to climb the ladder and wipe off the lens if it is raining on the way to our destination before I back into anywhere.

I have a Garmin 760 with the BC-20 back up camera. Works well
Camera is $135.00 additional extension cable is 35.00
But for $170.00 its a nice addition.
The best thing is that there is no monitor required. Camera image is shown on Garmin GPS display

I use a wired system with the camera mounted on the spare tire mount and the monitor on the dash. I would recommend wired over wireless.

I have had two rear view camera setups on my rig. First one was an inexpensive camera off the net into my laptop. Never worked very well, and when I stopped carrying my laptop in the cab (I use my cellphone now), I quit using it. I then bought a Rear View Safety setup, and put one camera on the back of the shell pointing down for hooking up, and the other on the back of the trailer for backing into campsites. The RVS setup works ok, but not great. The camera doesn't handle shade/sunlight transition very well. If the sun is in front of the truck so the hitch is right on the shade/light transition, it's very hard to see what's going on. I've resorted to putting white grease on the ball, and a small piece of white paper on the trailer connector to be able to align them. Also, the system almost never shows any color, it's a washed out black and white. I'm considering going with a different set-up, this one is so marginal for my use.

garmin fixed that issue completely when they did a wireless camera for the gps units. the transmitter can be mounted on the trailer tongue so there is no obstruction and distance to the reciever is < 10ft for virtually any case. you can buy a 50ft cable to go between the camera and transmitter, long enough for any reasonable rig

I agree, the majority of other wireless ones are junk, but the garmin is top notch.

When I got my new Garmin i got the wireless camera and installed it. It works good for backing up but using it driving the lens is too much wide angle to see who is following.
The biggest trouble is after all the years backing up I forget to use it.
Glad I installed it and think it was like 50 bucks more plus the 30 some dollars for a extra cord.
The screen has a icon to switch from GPS to backup.

have garmin backup camera with our RV760 GPS. IMHO one of the very best camera implementations around and very reasonable price.

One of the very few wireless cameras that actually works. you can locate the transmitter near the trailer tongue and run the optional extension cable to the back of any trailer. extension cable is 50'

A backup camera is something I would like to add to my Sonic. I have one on the TV and the Pioneer stereo I installed has two video inputs so it would just be a matter of mounting it and running the cord under the camper to the hitch where I would add a water proof connector. Then run the wire up to the back of the Pioneer. I believe this would really help with seeing if you have someone in your blind spot.
