... and stay on the TC Forum

This is where all of the action is...

along with truck camper owners being the best...

Actually.... we have owned truck campers since 1969... and we'd never consider downgrading to anything.

So?

How about you?

Sleepy, Love the story about DOGGY ROW!!! Seen those places NO THX!!!! Well I considered a SUPER C, just because I wanted a truck and not a pusher frame. But after looking at the cost and the limited places we could go...I STAYED with the TC...that's why we are rebuilding our Lance! It will be what we want and do what we want and take us where we want. I love that I can pull up almost anywhere take a nap have a pee and a cup of tea and sandwich and be beside some lake looking at a fine view or along the gulf coast or in the mountains of CO or PEI (next year)...TC'ing for us! Good subject, thx for starting it.

Sorry Sleepy but didn't you ask "How about You" to start this topic???

Well if it makes you feel better I just ordered a camper for my new truck.

We intend to sleep in it on occasion!

I'll be 79 in December. In my minds eye I've been thinking about driving safely as time goes by. Are my reflexes up to the task? Are my eye sight, attention span, reflexes changing at a rate that will effect driving to the point of danger? I know things are changing. How will I know when it's time to quit?

Recently our insurance company, The Hartford, in conjunction with AARP, sent me an offer. Each of us, Linda and I, would get a 10% discount on our insurance bill if we took the Senior Driving Course offered on AARP web site.

We took the course on the internet at a discount it was around $15 each. We found it to be exactly what we needed to feel right about our questions of aging and driving. We'll be more able to clearly access our future behind the wheel as a result of the course.

So, we too, decided to keep our truck camper!

The program addresses the problems of aging and driving and offers many pro-active choices to increase safe and sensible operation. I'm in no way affiliated with AARP other than as a policy holder. I thought the course was very well thought thru and offered real solutions to a serious concern.

We are seeing more of these in Australia, more and more Euro Van Cab Chassis with a Lance or other I.e Palominio. Joins the locally made ones doing the same thing

A TC fits our life style great since we often pull a boat. Wouldn't consider anything else.

We are having a lot of rain.... staying inside.... boring but what the hay?

I've been all over the internet.... looking for some truck camper action....

The busiest two people that I can find on the TC forum don't seem to have RV's at all... and they are obcessed with taking over this thread that... by it's own title this thread is confined to TCs and TC subjects.

And I have close family in England but our TC isn't over there and they don't have RV's...

When we go over we'll try to get with Sally and Steve... who definately have shared interests. in TC's. I'll report then....

It occurs to me that this thread has been hacked.... maybe the moderators will consider just eliminating it.

Or as a courtisy... maybe these guys will just edit their posts to include all things truck campers...

Stir the pot for the fireworks tomorrow night

Did you see Lake Bled?

Yes what an amazing place. My shot taken about 5pm, you had flettner boats taking you to the Island in the middle of the lake where they had weddings, At the same time they had weddings in the Castle on the Hill above the Lake. Little later white swans landed on the lake in droves. As you sat in the small restaurant getting your traditionally huge custard cake and coffee for €5, someone played a Jazz Guitar in the restaurant. As well you could hear the concert from the Church on the other side of the lake, when you walked around the lake. Most shots of Lake Bled show the Church on the Island, like yours in the middle of the day. Grooms have to carry their bride up 60 steps, after getting off the Flettner Boat. I saw a fellow from New Zealand, carry his Slovenian wife up those 60 stairs 🙂

sleepy,
If safety is a concern traveling to many city's world wide by air is much much safer than road travel in the US and Canada.

Being retired we try and leave weekends and holidays to younger people.
Besides we prefer low crowd conditions. So travel in the spring and fall is what we try to do.

The Great North West IS the nicest place in the world during July and August other months not so.
However if Global Warming is to blame for our nice June this year I'm going to enjoy the warming.

Lot of fascinating and safe places out there. Remember standing on the top of Mt Vogel facing the Julian Alps in Slovenia., very little cloud , a nice sunny day, drinking raspberry brandy and eating the local chocolate , delightful

My Oh My did you see Lake Bled?

A favorite Aunt painted a wonderful oil for our first home almost 50 years ago.
We have loved that picture and looked at it most every day.
It's hanging in our living room. Next year we plan to see it in person. Can't wait!

Well we sure want to see that little girl in Copenhagen. That is somewhat set!

Mermaid? Or do you mean the statue in Belgium of Jeanneke? The counterpoint of Manneken.

None of the above.
That little girl in our case is a little Grand niece on the wife's side.
Her parents live in Copenhagen.
She is over a year old and we haven't met her yet.
