I wanted to take a moment and thank all of my new friends here for all your help and support these past few weeks.

As some of you know, I had been stuck up north at the Cabela's in Hamburg PA, after a VERY scary trip from MA in high winds. Where we were stuck for some time... most all of you here were supportive and helpful. A true comfort at a very scary and lonely time. Most of which spent second guessing if I haven't lost my mind.

I finally made it to Charlotte, NC late Tuesday night and I'm plugged in at a friends house at the moment. Took 2 days for my legs to stop shaking and to get my sugar level up LOL

Not a permanent solution here, as I'm still without hookups, but the dog and I are warm finally and making new friends.

While I'm still not sure where I will end up (looking for a job around here and a place to camp with proper hookups that I can afford)

Or, hoping that I can make it to FL without too much more difficulty and stay with a friend there.

I can't thank you all enough for all your kindness, support and suggestions. The world felt a little smaller and a lot kinder because of it. You have truly all meant the world to me in a very scary time in my life. I hope that you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving.

I also have been keeping up with your travels, It's good that things are looking up and you are past the bottom and headed back up, you are in a beautiful part of the country, these forums are a nice thing to have around, I am on motorcycle forums, Diesel truck forums, Subaru forums, and it sure makes the fear of a breakdown or major problem when along way from home a lot less scary knowing I can contact good folks all over the country and they will be happy to help me.

Liza, I too, like professor Dan have pretty much been lurking since I had nothing to add about your part of the country.

But believe me, we are all "needy" in different ways, at different times in life.
One thing is for sure, you will learn a LOT on this adventure, both about yourself, but also about how to approach different struggles in this journey we call life.
When you are old and gray, you'll have some stories to tell ! Happy belated Thanksgiving.

EDIT: check out a blog called "interstellar orchard" and reach out and have a conversation with that young lady. She has been in a similar situation as you.

What a nice post you did. I have been following your posts, too. You have your fur kid and the two of you will do good.

How could I NOT thank you all here!? OMG I would have been lost without all of you. I still am rather needy truthfully. I don't think I will feel settled until I am parked somewhere without feeling like I'm living in a bouncy house on the high seas LOL

Thank you! It's nice to know that you were lurking in a supportive kinda way.

I too well remember the days without internet and cell phones, when people actually spoke to each other... there are times that I miss that, but in this case... thank god for forums
(and I have a TON of questions since I have NO idea what I am doing, bought this camper sight unseen and no clue as to take care of things)

Hang in there! I have been one of the "lurkers" watching your posts -- since I am on the West Coast, I had nothing to contribute about camping and travel back East, so I did not post. But I am very glad you are safe and warm.

Although there are a few crabby folks on these forums, the vast majority of participants are well-meaning and well-informed. In this season of thankfulness, I am very thankful for our members and that these kinds of discussion groups exist -- I am old enough to clearly remember the world before the Internet. (I was in my early 40's when I did my first web search!) Some things about the web are bad, but the rapid exchange of information and ideas is just priceless.

Safe travels!
