search the Internet for several various ways to search craigslist nationwide. I think allcraigs.com is one. These things pop up.

Mine had corner jacks mounted. Bad idea! The structure is not built or designed to take the mounting lag bolts (one side of each corner is simply a 1x2). If you don't have corner jacks on one, DON'T INSTALL THEM.

These 8' or 8.5' guys are pretty light. After removing most of my extras, and the jacks, it came in about 1600 lbs. As I continue my resto-mod I'll be checking the weight.

One portable side jack each side it a pretty good method for these smaller units. I plan to build a steel angle iron surface unit for my side jacks to fasten to. These units will have male pipe on the ends to insert in the female pipes of the original under wing mount jack system frame.

I too have lots of wood replacement issues and have the metal skin about half ready to remove completely. Once off and temp stored I'll do my wood replacement, re-wire, stryro-board insulation in cavities, thin batt (.5" like original) on outer side of framework, and re-install the metal.

Also, after painting a rubber membrane seal over a house shower concrete board and under the ceramic tile, I am considering it's use on my camper. It is thin, dries into a single waterproof sheet (pretty hard rubber sheet). I'd install styro-board insulation in the 3/4" framing cavity, mesh fiberglass tape all exterior seams, paint on the membrane (roll or brush) then re-install the metal exterior - all over the newly replaced various wood framing parts. I also would overlap the membrane on the window and door cutout edges.

Just wondering what other people have used for paint. I'm looking for a good white paint for the outside of the camper.

That camper is long gone but back then I bought a new horizontal tank for it. If yours is a vertical tank (like your BBq) take it to one of the exchange places and swap it out. If it lays on its side, you'll need to have it recertified.

I just had both vertical tanks in my camper recertified for only $50 (for both) including propane.

Going to check into that thanks

Nice TQ man. What are you using for a propane tank. The tank I have is very old and I doubt I can fill it.

Had some time to look at the camper a little deeper today. I've got my work cut out for me but gas works lights work. There's a line from the water tank that broke and caused some damage to the floor. I'm planing on swapping the wood boards that the jacks hook up to with tube steel and replacing most of the bottom of the camper with new wood.
This thing needs a lot of work and will prob take me a long time to get perfoct but it's usable the way it is so I plan on using it.
I like vintage things and couldn't see this thing going to the scrap yard

This will be fun to watch. What are you going to do...plans? Do you think those marker lights are big enuf? Is that really two portable side lift jacks? Show some pics of those. I have a fairly modern set that I used to lift off a canopy about 20 years ago..still use one to lift the tongue of my boat trailer higher so boat will drain when sitting in the back as I have a slope of 4% in the wrong direction.
Always more pics will get you off the hook from writing anything. Have fun!
