We just bought a Vista Cruiser 19RBS, picking it up in April. Anyone have any thoughts, comments, likes, dislikes about the trailer. Particular any issues you may have come across for then we may be able to deal with them before we pick up the trailer from the dealer

Congrats on your new TT. I like the floor plan but, I think I would move the television location but, that's just me. Go have fun.

You might do a search for axle issues with the Vistas. The earlier models had problems with too low cargo carrying capacities. Hopefully these have been addressed with yours.

Thanks, that is really helpful. We upgraded from an 8 ft tent trailer so this is all new to us. The tent trailer was
great when the weather is nice, not so much in bad weather.

Just a short checklist that may save you a few headaches. This was Copied from the Open Range Owners Forum and some items may not apply. But it's an excellent list to start with

Happy Camping!

GENERAL
Second set of keys? Full set of manuals?
Ask about the rod that allows you to open the top hatches so you don't have to use a step stool. (?)

OUTSIDE
Running gear
โ€ข Tires balanced, at correct pressure and lugs torqued correctly?
CHECK AGAIN AT 50 & 100 MILES!
โ€ข Are the tire valve stems metal? (Will need for TPMS.)
โ€ข Check operation of landing gear, front and rear. Locate the remote control.
โ€ข Check that Auto-level system has been calibrated (if present).
โ€ข Check operation & installation of StrongArm stabilizers. Locate the โ€œT-Handlerโ€ extension handle.
โ€ข Check that equalizer (between the springs) has grease zerks and has been lubricated. (Consider the wet-bolt upgrade.)

Lights
โ€ข All exterior lights working? (Flood lights, porch light, hitch light, brake and clearance lights)
โ€ข Are front and rear marker lights caulked correctly?

Accessories
โ€ข Operate and inspect power awning.

Slide-outs
โ€ข Operate all slide-outs and ensure slide-out cables are properly aligned.
โ€ข Do the slide seals appear in good shape where the cables come through?
โ€ข Is the spring connected to the Flex-guard cable holder(s) under the slide-out(s)?

Storage areas
โ€ข Check all of the outside storage doors for proper operation of the latches.

Electrical
โ€ข 12V Deep Cycle Battery? Check that battery connections are tight. Inspect battery holder for cracks.

Plumbing
โ€ข Does the black tank flush work correctly?
โ€ข Verify that the gray and black tank valves are labeled correctly in the convenience center.
โ€ข Check water heater by-pass.
โ€ข Fresh water/city water connections working correctly?
โ€ข Check all water connections to ensure that they are tight with no leaks.

Propane
โ€ข Tanks filled and secured? Check for leaks.

Tools
โ€ข Where is the crank for manually operating the landing gear?
โ€ข Where are the rods for manually opening the slides with a power drill?
โ€ข Where is spare tire lowering crank? (may be in the basement area) Find and test. Is spare fully raised?

INSIDE
Appliances
โ€ข Check & operate all appliances.
โ€ข Is the bag installed in the Central Vac (if ordered)?

AV System
โ€ข Where are the TV and stereo remotes?
โ€ข Bring a CD and DVD to test operation of AV system.
โ€ข Verify that the TVs are connected to the antenna and that each of the satellite coax connections work correctly (and you understand them). Power on each TV and check antenna reception.
