Top of the morning-

Has anyone had their T.T. service while under warranty and it takes a long time for them to get to it so they can work on the issue? When we first bought it they told us, since you bought it here you will be one of the first one to get taken care of. Wow never the less its been a month an the unit still hasn't been looked at. Perhaps is because they are taking care of the new buyers first, so they can seal the deal on the sale? While mine it still sitting there collecting dust! Memorial day no T.T. So I call 2 weeks ago to get an update, they told me there is 5 more people ahead of you. OK... Now you must be wondering what is wrong with the unit? Well I just can't get water to go into the T.T. from the W.T or city hook up.:M

Happy memorial day to all. Be safe..

I had posted this back in May 25 2014. Someone asked me to let them know what was the problem on why I did not had water in T.T. once the shop go it fixed. after almost 6 weeks in the shop and many calls, and an email finally got it back this past Saturday. The problem was that it need it the city water fill replace. ( City water hook up )Wow six week for this? Ok enough of that I got my baby back and I'm happy:)

If I HAVE to take my trailer somewhere for a repair that is beyond my capability ,I have found a shop that does only RV repair. No Sales. It is owned by a couple who have been in business for 40 years. They now have a grandson as an apprentice in their shop so eventually he will take over the business.
If you can find a reputable shop that does service only(no sales) you will be a much happier camper. Their reputation is earned by doing prompt, quality work the first time .
But first of all use the internet to learn all you can about doing any repairs yourself.

Lots of people waste lots of money buying from local dealers thinking they will get better service...I don't know if that happened to you or not but I made that mistake. I made an appointment to have mine fixed. Waited almost a month to get it in. Then after they had it for several weeks I picked it up with only 1/2 the work done and much of it done poorly. IE: Replaced a warped cabinet door with one that had a different finish and called it fixed...They will never see me again.

Took my dealer from the 16th of July to the 20th of October to replace the front cap and tongue jack on my Forest River. That sucked big time. JMHO

We bought out of state on both trailers and have had only a couple of issues that required local dealer involvement...one was the Dometic frig recall. Our local dealer is a PITA, but I got an appt for the next day and was in and out within 30 min tops. DH fixes any and all little things himself and some of the bigger ones, he gets online and finds what he needs and the info to do it.

For future reference, the dealer is going to have to look at the problem to know what's involved in the fix. However, I would tell them that when they are absolutely sure your trailer is scheduled for a particular day to call you and you'll have it there in plenty of time. It's ridiculous for the dealer to have you leave it only to have it sit for weeks without being touched. Be nice, but be firm that you expect it to be done as they've said.
Trailerless but still have the spirit

This is a perfect post to show those who ask about buying local or getting a better deal out of state! I bought out of state and had to consider buying local just for the convenience of service. I'm very happy with my decision and thanks to the OP, validated too. OP, sorry for your problems. I would be having a sit-down meeting with the service manager soon. If you keep it cordial, I'm sure they will help get your problem resolved. Good luck

So sorry to hear about your dealer being so slow. There are posts like yours all the time. Most folks are like sch911 and have learned to do a lot of things themselves. Do you have a friend that is knowledgeable about TT's that you could ask to help? The Dealer is blowing you off and is not doing their job correctly.

With RV's, it's "some assembly required".
It's best to fix the little problems yourself. Your plumbing issue is probably something very simple and a 15 minute fix.
If it was mine, I'd go get it, bring it home, fix it, then go camping.

Dealers always give you that line about service to get you to "buy local".

I avoid taking our RV's in unless it's a recall. I am very happy doing all the fixing myself. May not work for you but I know I'm not alone...
