So now that we are joining the owners of a TT a few things are starting to run through my mind. After spending years as a MH owner and traveler we got to know the ropes and in & outs of the MH lifestyle. We have learned which kitchen utinsels to bring and that we pack light with dishes and glass wear using mostly paper plates and glasses for those travel days. When we looked at TT's one of the main Criterias was that we could pull over and without putting out the slides we can use the bathroom, get into the refrig and sit at the dinning room chairs. I know I can pack much lighter on tools as I do not need any of the heavy duty tools that I needed for a Diesel break down or the large wheel tools.
We plan to pack light on the groceries and not take so much extra as we have in the past. I think a small 2000 watt generator will surfice as we do little hot weather dry camping. So what is it that people getting into a TT forget to have or bring.

The extra key is a good point. I have a extra key for the TT in the pickup and a extra key for the pickup in the TT. I also have one for the pickup in a magnetic holder stuck under the pickup.

While camping we have been asked for the loan of matches, sugar, bug sprayer, toothpaste, saw, ax, salt. Simple things that everyone should remember but people do not.
Extra key to get in the door which we did not have but our grand daughter was able to climb in their 5W and open the door.

Dog trainer, joining you shortly after 11 years in a diesel pusher, just as soon as it sells. I had to smile at the slide open to use the bathroom comment. I was at a RV show in Phoenix and met a very nice factory rep who questioned why we wanted a trailer we could use the bathroom without opening the slide. I explained to her that with our retired status and time 11 years in a RV, it's the "small" stuff, that we want. Electric jacks, tv that we can watch frontally not sideways, sleeping areas and kitchen that can be used with slides closed, electric awnings, slide toppers, comfortable queen bed, usable floor plan, usable storage, a working "easy" button

Great suggestions from all. I do have the electric jack on mine as well as electric stab jacks. I plan to mount some type of permanent bubble levels in a n easy to use area.

Several people have mentioned an electric jack. One is also a must have for me. However, I ran into a small problem with mine. As installed the tail gate on my TV would not let down without bumping into the jack. My solution was to turn the jack 120 degrees. I did have to drill an additional hole in the jack mounting plate because only 2 bolt holes would line up.

A must have for me is a cover for the roof vents. I never have to worry if I left them open when a rain storm comes. I leave them open when we are traveling. There are several good brands out there and installation is pretty simple.

Ditto. THe only reason most TTs have a manual tongue jack is due to cost. Manufacturers cut costs everywhere they can.
