His point is probably that the economic case for purchasing an EV right now, especially for work duty rather than being fast, probably doesn't pan out. At all.
Call me skeptic, but I don' think the Workhorse truck had a chance from the get-go. Poor specs, a body that's based on an already obsolete Chevy, and topped off with the worst Fischer-Price interior I've ever seen.
