I saw these threads in some of the other Open Roads RV Forums, but didn't see one for TCs.

I'll start...

I installed Interior LED puck lights and a 12v power outlet.

Started the install on a solar powered ceiling fan. I need to find a swivel base for the panel. Probably use a seat base.

Great idea, DJ!! I have the same problem with my camper. Another item to add to my modification to do list. 🙂

I lightened the load on the truck by about 100#s by removing the 48" supertruss extension. Next its off to fuel it, fill propane and wash it, then pack for next weekends fishing trip. I always forget then quickly remember how heavy and awkward that sucker is to get it out from under the truck and TC then carry it to the storage shed.

I checked for leaks and found 2 in the outside storage areas that I cannot find where they are coming from. Leaks are the worst!!! I added more weather stripping and checked all the caulking.

A mystery indeed.

Here is what I did to my old S&S.

Swapped the clear bottom window with the frosted top.

Took down factory valance

Added a trim board

New valance with pull down shade inside

With shade pulled

Then I could raise the shade to look out without opening the door. My present SunLite has the clear glass from the factory with a pull down shade but you can not operate it as it is between the screen door. I just leave the shade up and when I want privacy I open the bathroom door which opens against the entry door. :C

VERY nice! .... and a great idea! I have frosted glass in the top of my door so I don't have this need, but I'd like to swap it out and will do the same thing you did! I have a small clear window on the bottom with an insulated flap that I have to open the door to pull up, but that's not a problem and it's handy for backing up sometimes.

Thanks for the photos! Nice job. 🙂

Clear Door Glass YES!!! I replaced the Frosted Glass with Clear on our 2011 Eagle Cap 950 two years ago. It was a simple chore and my wife made a set of Velco on Curtains that we use if and when needed for the upper and lower clear windows. The clear view is great I don't know why I never did this mod to our previous two campers.

I think the frosted window was a Monkey see, Monkey do thing. I am not aware of any TCs that do not have frosted glass in the door.

Loaded mine up for deer season. Headed out in the morning. 5 days then back home for 2 and back in the woods chasing elk. Will be camped where only people with wall tents and campers can go. No TT going up this road.
