Since 2006 I'm sure there have been a lot of changes. I remember the talk of the vortexes and how many people went out their to gain some "spiritual" experiences......... For us it was that beauty of early mornings/sunset's looking at His creation displayed in the scenery. My wife's usual response for "where you want to go" on any of our trips is, "somewhere we haven't". Monument Valley looks pretty promising. That would be somewhere we haven't. Wife and I are taking a 3 week trip in October. In 2006 we took my kids and used this site to help most of the planning for that 4 week trip of a lifetime. Before spending 6 days at the Balloon festival in Alburquerque, we will spend a few days in Sedona/Cottonwood area and 3 days in Grand Canyon. Had my Balloon Featival reaervations for months. Got the GC reservations today. Tried to get Rancho Sedona reservations and they didn't have any for the 4 nights I wanted. 1. What other recommendations for a campsite in the Sedona area? 2. Will have one night between my GC site and the Balloon site. Want to make up some of the distance so we can be at the Balloon Fest by set up time. Any suggestions for a site between GC and Alburquerque with some good things to do that evening? 34' TT. Love to hike, bike, sunrises, sunsets, do like occasional antique shopping.
